1)Mold opening direction and parting line
In the beginning of the mold design for each injection molding product, need to confirm the mold opening direction and parting line, to ensure that as far as possible to reduce the core-pulling slider organization and eliminate the impact of parting line on the appearance.
1. After the mold opening direction is confirmed, the reinforcing ribs, buckles, protrusion and other structures of the product should be as far as possible with the same direction as the direction of mould opening, so as to prevent core-pulling and cutting the parting line and prolong the life of the mould.
2. After the mold opening direction is confirmed, the appropriate parting line can be selected to prevent undercut in the mold opening direction, so as to improve the appearance and function.
2) Demoulding slope
1. The appropriate demoulding slope can prevent the product scratching.The demoulding slope of smooth surface should be more than 0.5 degree, the fine texture surface should be more than 1 degree, and the coarse texture surface should be than 1.5 degrees.
2. The appropriate demoulding slope can prevent the product ejection mark, such as white mark, ejection deformation, ejection broken.
3. When designing deep cavity structure products, the slope of the outer surface should be bigger than the slope of the inner surface as far as possible to ensure that the mold core is not deviated during injection molding, to obtain uniform product wall thickness, and to ensure the material strength of the opening part of the product.
3) Product wall thickness
1. All kinds of plastics have a certain wall thickness scale, generally 0.5 ~ 4mm, when the wall thickness exceeds 4mm, will cause cooling time too long, sink mark and other problems, should consider changing the product structure.
2. Uneven wall thickness will cause the appearance of shrinkage.
3. Uneven wall thickness will cause pores and welding marks.
4) Reinforcing ribs
1. The reasonable application of reinforcing ribs, can be helpful for product rigidity and reducing deformation.
2. The thickness of the reinforcement ribs must be ≤ (0.5 ~ 0.7)T product wall thickness, otherwise will cause the appearance of shrinkage.
3. The single slope of the reinforcing ribs should be bigger than 1.5° to prevent ejection broken.
5) The radius
1. Too small radius may cause product stress aggregation, leading to product cracking.
2. Too small radius may cause stress concentration in mold cavity, leading to cavity cracking.
3. Reasonable radius can also improve the processing technology of the mold, such as the cavity can be directly milling with R cutter, and prevent low efficiency electrical processing.
4. Different radius may cause the changing of parting lines. Different radius or clear corners should be selected according to the actual situation.
